Do any of you watch south park?
This past season (20) they did a brilliant job explaining troll behavior.
i truly don't understand the mindset of a troll.
i know it's been explained, but i still don't get it.
it is hard to distinguish between a troll and a jw apologist at times because the reactions are very similar.

"traumatic as the initial transition may be, it can lead to the development of a truly personal relationship with these two greatest friends [the father and the son] .
.. "whatever sense of 'belonging' that membership in some religious system may create, it can never compare with the power and beauty and strengthening benefit of the intimate personal relationship the scripture presents .
from reading joseph campbell i've come to understand that there are functions to religion or mythology.

Just throwin my .02 cents in
As JW's we are trained to break down and dispute others belief systems. Than when they have no response to our well rehearsed reasoning from the scriptures logic, we supplement JW teachings as sound and infallible.
When someone wakes up to the truth about the troof, all pretense of a higher power or creator as presented by the big 3 religions has holes and flaws in it.

several years ago, i was introduced to a "wonderful" company called fortune hi tech marketing by a brother and his wife.
they had been introduced by a former sheriff who claims he had researched the company and found no leins or judgments, and that former sheriff had been brought in by a pastor.
you can read what happened with fhtm on wikipedia if you so desire.. this whole new idea of multilevel marketing had my brain reeling, though, and soon enough, i actually signed up with none other than prepaid legal.

"make for yourself an ark from resinous wood.
you will make compartments in the ark and cover it with tar inside and outside.
" - genesis 6:14. because, you know, that's how you build a giant boat - just wood and tar.
Ya'll are just under estimating the wisdom a 500yr old man has, when it comes to doing stuff that has never been done before.
the three greatest teachings of jesus.
are all cancelled out by the practices and teaching of the fds.
jesus gave three outstanding examples of what it is to be a follower of his and the actions and mindset that you should have, all three of these teachings or example's are diminished by the practices of jw's.
Bumping for Island man!
jesus said that his true disciples would love him more than family.
(matthew 10:37) therefore, ex-jws worthy of reinstatement should be returning because they love jesus more than family - not because of wanting to restore family association.
if they truly love jesus more than family they would still return despite their family continuing to communicate with them, because they will value their relationship with jesus as a prize to be attained above and beyond their relationship with their family.
Ok, I always a step backwards to look at a situation but really who has the right to demand what Jesus is supposed to have said?
I say look at what Jesus did and his teachings.
This is a post I did some time back to illustrate

its not easy being an introvert in an extrovert worldespecially when youre a kid.
it is even more difficult if none of the adults in the kids life recognize that the child is an introvert.
this doesnt happen only when the childs parents are extroverts, but also with introverted parents who have never understood their own introverted nature.. .
i know jws have long used the word "shun" in a general sense, as in "shun what is bad".
but i think they have long avoided using the word in relation to disfellowshipping.
in external media or literature wherever the word "shunning" was used in a piece about jws it was usually a good indication it was critical of watchtower and not a neutral or supportive commentary.
Back in the day use of that term was shunned.
